of Student Affairs. To assist you in finding the information you are seeking, select

Health Center

Provides quality outpatient medical services to matriculated students who have paid
the mandatory student fee with their tuition.

Maintains two campus locations to better serve the students.

Provides several walk-in services including: treatment for acute illness / injury,
health education, immunizations, laboratory testing, pharmacy, testing and treatment
for STI's, wart removal and X-ray.
- Offers many services by appointment, such as: optometry, physical exams, therapeutic
massage and women's annual exams.

Coordinate on-campus housing program for students

Promote development of a living/learning environment within the residence halls

Provide trained staff and program opportunities to facilitate the development of
residents

Support educational goals of the residents and the University
- Lease housing accommodations to a variety of summer conference groups

Conduct a NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic program which includes 20 men's
and women's teams

Assist new students with their transition from high school or prior college as they
prepare to enroll in Sac State courses.

Inform new students (and their parents) of university expectations regarding: graduation
timeline, grade requirements and university policy and procedures.

Provide initial information on campus programs and services available to help students
through their individual college experience.
- Familiarize students and parents with the campus environment.
- Provide professional emotional and psychological support to students through individual
and group counseling, by licensed psychologists, social workers, MFC counselors,
and psychiatrists

Provide leadership opportunities and education to students
- Promote and produce student-focused program and events

Provides Sacramento State Division I student-athletes with support in the areas
of academic services; NCAA life skills; student-athlete development programs; NCAA
rules compliance; and athletic-related financial services.

Serves as the primary office for mandatory academic and NCAA continuing eligibility
advising for student-athletes and includes registration and new athlete orientation
support.

Provides student-athletes various retention support with tutorial and student mentoring;
computer lab access; academic progress monitoring; and inclusion in campus-wide
student services programs and workshops.

Directs the NCAA and Big Sky Conference rules education programs; monitors all compliance-related
athletic activities; and coordinates the certification of academic eligibility for
all Division I student-athletes at Sacramento State.

Coordinates programs designed to enhance student-athlete welfare and development.
This includes working with freshman programs, promoting alcohol & health education,
and serving as a liaison to the campus NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Facilitates 5th-year and summer athletic scholarships and special NCAA scholarship
programs such as 6th-year degree-completion and minority postgraduate scholarships.
- Provides support to the Intercollegiate Athletics Department with the dissemination
and interpretation of athletic-academic data such as the NCAA Academic Performance
Rate and Graduation Rates reports.

Ensure that student veterans and dependents have all payments of federal and state benefits
certified to the Department of Veteran Affairs in a timely and accurate manner

Adapt to the changing needs of student veterans and enhance services to meet those needs

Provide a welcoming and inviting environment for veterans that helps ease their transition to college

Advocate for student veterans locally, regionally and nationally
